Free Microsoft Exam Voucher Next Week — 16 Certs, Live Training, and 11 Sessions Are Already Full
If you’ve been putting off a Microsoft certification because of the exam fee, next week is a good excuse to stop waiting. Microsoft and training partner Fast Lane are running Microsoft Certification Week – Cloud, Security and AI Business Solutions for the Asia region from Monday 28 September to Friday 2 October 2026. It’s live, instructor-led, online, and it comes with a route to a free exam voucher.
I’ve gone through the event page so you don’t have to. Below is what’s included, the day-by-day schedule in IST, how the voucher actually works (there’s a catch or two), and my take on which track makes sense depending on the job you do.

What’s included
According to the event page, participants get four things: real-time, expert-led exam prep across 16 certifications; hands-on labs delivered with Skillable; access to exam vouchers through Microsoft’s LevelUp programme; and live Q&A with Microsoft experts. Days 1–4 are an accelerated training sprint, and Day 5 (2 October) is dedicated to exam prep.
Be realistic about the format: each certification gets a two-hour live session plus roughly an hour of self-paced labs per day. That is a focused crash course, not a full training programme. It works best if you already have some hands-on exposure to the product, or if you use it as a structured kick-off and then keep studying for a few weeks before sitting the exam.
Day-by-day schedule (IST)
Sessions run in four daily slots: 08:00–10:00, 10:30–12:30, 13:30–15:30 and 16:00–18:00 IST. Reading the grid on the official page, each of the first four days has a theme:
| Slot (IST) | Mon 28 Sep Cloud + AI | Tue 29 Sep Security + Endpoints | Wed 30 Sep Teams + Agentic AI | Thu 1 Oct Dynamics + Power Platform |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 08:00–10:00 | AZ-305 | SC-200 | MS-700 | MB-800 |
| 10:30–12:30 | AI-200 | SC-401 | MS-721 | AB-210 |
| 13:30–15:30 | DP-600 | SC-500 | AB-100 | AB-250 |
| 16:00–18:00 | GH-600 | MD-102 | AB-410 | PL-400 |
Friday 2 October is the exam-prep day. Because every certification has its own slot, you can technically attend several — but four back-to-back two-hour sessions plus labs is a lot. Pick one, two at most.

Which track should you pick?
Sixteen options is a lot. Here’s how I’d choose, based on the kind of work most readers of this blog do:
- DevOps / cloud engineers: AZ-305 is the obvious pick if you already know Azure basics and want an architecture-level credential. If your day is spent in pipelines and repos, GH-600 is worth a look — agentic AI in the developer workflow is where GitHub is heading. Coming from AWS? AZ-305 is also a good way to map what you already know (VPCs, IAM, landing zones) onto Azure’s equivalents.
- Security / SOC folks: SC-200 if you work on detection and incident response; SC-500 if you’re more on the cloud-security engineering side and want coverage of AI workloads.
- Sysadmins / IT admins: MD-102 (Intune endpoint management) and MS-700 (Teams) map directly to what a lot of Windows and M365 admins already do every day — often the easiest certs to pass off real experience.
- Developers building AI features: AI-200 for Azure-native AI apps, AB-410 or PL-400 if you’re in the Power Platform world.
- Data engineers: DP-600 for Microsoft Fabric.
My rule of thumb: pick the certification closest to work you already do. A two-hour session won’t teach you a product from zero, but it’s very effective at filling gaps and showing you what the exam emphasises.
How the free exam voucher works (read this carefully)
The voucher is the main draw, and the rules are stricter than people assume:
- After the training, you take a practice test on the LevelUp platform.
- Score 80% or higher and you earn a free Microsoft certification exam voucher.
- Only your first attempt counts. You can ask the LevelUp team for more attempts, but those won’t qualify for a voucher no matter what you score.
- It’s one voucher per event, not per course. Attending four sessions still gets you a single voucher.
- Eligibility is also subject to Microsoft’s partner programme (MAICPP) requirements, and LevelUp’s terms and conditions apply.
Practical advice: don’t rush the practice test the moment the sessions end. Finish the labs, go through the Day 5 exam-prep content, review Microsoft Learn for your weaker areas, and then take it. You only get one shot at the voucher.
Who can actually register
This is the part that will filter out a lot of people. The event is aimed at Microsoft partners: you must register with a work or organisational email address, and sign-ups using Gmail, Outlook.com or other public email domains are rejected. Some session content may also be under NDA and restricted to partner use.
If your employer is a Microsoft partner — many IT services firms, MSPs and consultancies in India are — you’re likely in scope. If you’re a student or between jobs, this particular event probably isn’t for you; keep an eye on Microsoft’s student and Learn-based offers instead.
Seats are filling up
As of 23 September 2026, the registration form shows most sessions already marked “Event full” with a waitlist — including AZ-305, SC-200, SC-401, SC-500, AI-200, DP-600, GH-600, MD-102, AB-100, AB-410 and PL-400. At the time of writing, MS-700, MS-721, MB-800, AB-210 and AB-250 still showed open seats.
If your preferred track is full, join the waitlist anyway — it costs nothing — and consider registering for an open track that’s adjacent to your work as a backup.
How to register
- Open the registration page.
- Fill in your name, company, job title, business email and country.
- Click the session(s) you want (click again to deselect), or join the waitlist for full ones.
- Accept the privacy policy and submit.
- Wait for the confirmation email.
- Attend the live sessions, complete the labs, and redeem your Microsoft Achievement Code for the certificate of completion.
- Take the LevelUp practice test, earn the voucher (80%+), then schedule your exam.
A simple plan to get the most out of the week
- Before 28 Sep: open the Microsoft Learn page for your exam and skim the “skills measured” outline so you know what to listen for.
- During the session: note every topic the trainer says “comes up often” — that’s your revision list.
- Same evening: do the Skillable lab while the session is fresh. Labs are where the concepts stick.
- 2 Oct: attend exam prep, then give yourself a few days before the practice test.
- After: book the exam within a few weeks so the voucher doesn’t sit unused.
Final thoughts
For anyone working at a Microsoft partner, this is one of the better-value learning events of the year: live instruction, real labs, and a realistic path to a free exam. Go in with one clear target certification, treat the practice test seriously, and you can come out of the week with a voucher and a head start on your next credential.
